Therapeutic Indications
The tea tree is a large conifer native to Australia and southern Asia. One of the most popular oils of the natural health products industry, tea tree oil is obtained from leaves and twigs. Use of this plant spans many centuries, but only recently has it received mainstream attention.

Tea tree is powerful enough to remove skin diseases, yet gentle enough to apply directly onto the skin. Traditional use of Australian tea tree includes skin injuries, rheumatism, toothaches, colds, sore and aching muscles, head-aches, and as a mouthwash.

Current research has proven the effectiveness of this plant's anti-microbial properties. It is used to successfully treat cuts, stings, acne, toe nail fungus, and burns. This essential oil is so potent that tea tree soaked blankets are often used to cover burn victims, preventing infections.

In addition to eradicating microbe infections, tea tree is one of the few natural products that is a successful insect repellent, and removes head lice.

To treat head lice, mix 100ml distilled water, 25 drops of Tea Tree Oil Lotion, 5 drops Super Strength Oil of Oregano and massage into the scalp 3 times daily. Using a fine toothed comb, dipped in Tea Tree Oil Lotion, remove lice and eggs from the hair shaft. Use diluted Goldenseal extract or strong tea to wash the scalp to avoid reoccurrence. All objects in contact with the infected person (clothes, linen, etc.) should be washed and disinfected in hot water and Tea Tree Essential Oil.

Plant essential oils have been successfully utilized for thousands of years. Ancient civilizations, such as Greek and Egyptian, commonly used them as remedies, relaxants, and even perfumes. Different oils have variable effects on the body's systems. Many of the oils require that they be inhaled to experience the beneficial effects.

Some oils, such as tea tree, can be applied directly on the skin, while others must be diluted first to avoid irritating dermal tissue. By blending grain alcohol and polysorbate 80 into tea tree oil, penetration into the skin is greatly increased.

Polysorbate 80 is derived from combining the glucose contained in berries with ethyl alcohol. This natural ingredient is included in our luxurious formulation to facilitate spreading and to improve lotion absorption. Tea tree essential oil is further diluted with the inclusion of these products, which makes it gentler and safer to use topically.

Pure-Li Natural utilizes 100% naturally derived products and pure, unadulterated tea tree essential oil in this formulation.

Storage
Tea Tree Oil Lotion should be stored in a cool, dry area until it is used. Once opened, refrigeration and tightly closing the cap will prolong its shelf life.

Usage
Tea Tree Oil Lotion can be used both on its own and in combination with other products.

To use on its own, apply liberally to affected areas 4 times daily (or as required), and massage in. Be sure to treat the region adjacent to the wound, as healing is occurring here, too. If using a bandage, increase the quantity of oil applied. This guarantees the treatment area is still exposed to the lotion, not absorbed by the bandage.
