Indications
Most men barely realize the purpose behind their prostate until they have urinary discomfort, urinary pain or difficulty urinating.

As a man ages, his hormone levels change, causing his prostate gland to gradually enlarge. This enlargement often is the source of pain and urinary difficulties. This all too common condition is known medically as benign prostatic hypertrophy or benign prostatic hyperplasia, both of which are abbreviated as BPH.

The Prostate Gland
The prostate gland plays a vital role in the male reproductive system. The main purpose of the prostate is to produce a nutrient-rich fluid for semen, which transports sperm during ejaculation. In addition, prostatic fluid guards a man's urinary system and genitals from infection.

A normal healthy prostate gland is quite small, it weighs only about an ounce, and is nearly the same size and shape as a walnut. It is located just below the bladder. The prostate wraps around tube that carries urine from the bladder out through the tip of the penis. This tube is called the urethra.

Because of its location, conditions of the prostate often manifest themselves by showing symptoms involving urinary dysfunction.

Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy
As men get older, their prostate increases in size. If the prostate grows large enough, it will squeeze the urethra and make the urine flow weaker, slower and cause frequent urination. This increase condition is called Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH).

BPH may occur even in moderate size prostates. In a small percentage of cases, BPH completely blocks urination and may cause permanent bladder or kidney damage.

The incidence of BPH increases with age. BPH is so common, that it is practically inevitable. It has been said, "All men will have benign prostatic hyperplasia if they live long enough!"

Some degree of BPH is present in 80% of all men over 40 years old and this figure increases to 95% of all men 80 years old.

Less that half of men with BPH show any symptoms of the disease, which may include:
· Urinary hesitancy
· Weak urine stream
· Frequent nighttime urination
· Painful urination
· Bloody urine
· Urinary retention
· Increased urinary frequency
· Urinary urgency
· Incontinence

Phytosterol Complex
Phytosterols are a family of naturally occurring plant compounds. They are the common therapeutic denominator thought to be responsible for the therapeutic effects of Pygeum, Saw palmetto, Pumpkinseed, Nettle, and other effective natural prostate remedies.

Storage
Prostate Rx Once A Day Capsules should be stored away from heat and light until it is required. It can be kept in a purse, briefcase, or back pack. Ensure that the cap is tightly secured when not in use.

Usage
Adult males should take one Prostate Rx capsule each day with water or juice (in the morning at least ½ hour before or after eating). Like most herbal supplements, Prostate Rx takes time to work; optimal effectiveness should occur after 6-8 weeks with continuous uninterrupted use.
