Therapeutic Indications
Goldenseal is known as one of Nature's few true "Cure-alls". It is used as one of the basic ingredients for this wondrous ointment. Witch Hazel is one of nature's best astringents, making it ideal wherever there has been bleeding. The ointment is one of
the best remedies for temporary relief due to the discomfort of hemorrhoids and has a deserved reputation in the treatment of bruises, swelling, and varicose veins.Due to its astringent and antiseptic properties this ointment is an ideal treatment for
rashes, skin irritations and abrasions. It can also aid in the rapid healing of minor wounds.
Storage
Goldenseal & Witch Hazel Ointment should be stored in a cool, dry area until it is required.
Usage
Goldenseal & Witch Hazel Ointment should only be used externally. It can be applied liberally to the affected area, and thoroughly massaged in. Be sure to treat the region adjacent to the wound, as healing is
occurring here too.
If using a bandage, the amount of ointment applied should be increased. This guarantees the area being treated is still exposed to the ointment.
Complimentary Therapies
Proper nutrition is vital to good health. Drink plenty of water (at least 8 glasses daily) and juice instead of coffee, tea or sodas. Try to avoid synthetic ingredients, highly concentrated in prepared or packaged foods, and take a well-balanced
multivitamin and mineral supplement.
Compression, elevation, and ice or heat can be used to alleviate discomfort. A qualified health practitioner should be consulted to confirm which is the best course of treatment for you.
