Therapeutic Indications
Comfrey is a must for every first aid kit. Sometimes referred to as 'knitbone' and often called the 'heal-all herb', comfrey is a traditional medicine used to relieve the pain and discomfort of bruises and sprains. It promotes rapid repair due to the
presence of allantoin, a chemical that stimulates cell growth, which promotes wound-healing both inside and out.
Many people use Comfrey Ointment for various types of bone and muscle damage including osteoarthritis. Outdoor enthusiasts and sports players should be sure to always have Comfrey Ointment handy in case of
injury.
Storage
Comfrey Ointment should be stored in a cool, dry area until it is required.
Usage
Comfrey Ointment should only be used externally. It can be applied liberally to the affected area, and thoroughly massaged in. Be sure to treat the region adjacent to the wound, as healing is occurring here
too.
If using a bandage, the amount of ointment applied should be increased. This guarantees the area being treated is still exposed to the ointment.
Complimentary Therapies
Proper nutrition is vital to good health. Drink plenty of water (at least 8 glasses daily) and juice instead of coffee, tea or sodas. Try to avoid synthetic ingredients, highly concentrated in prepared or packaged foods, and take a well-balanced
multivitamin and mineral supplement.
