Calendula Flowers (Calendula officinalis)
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Natural Vitamin E

Dosage Forms
Calendula Herbal Oil is
certified Kosher and Parve, and packaged in convenient 50 ml amber glass bottles with glass pipette droppers.

Indications
Calendula is effective for external use on minor burns, including sunburns, bruises, strains, and wounds (whether they are bleeding or not). Internally, calendula may be used in cases of ulcers, indigestion, and gall bladder problems. Its antibacterial and antifungal properties make calendula essential for fighting infections.

Contraindications
Pregnant women should not use Calendula internally. May intensify the effects of sedatives or tranquilizers.

Therapeutic Indications
Calendula is a perennial herb in areas where temperatures do not approach freezing. The many benefits of this pretty yellow flower have made it a favourite of herbalists for hundreds of years.

Traditional external use of calendula includes treating minor burns (including sunburns), bruises, cuts, rashes, sore nipples, eczema, and bleeding. This plant was also taken internally to reduce infections and swelling, to stimulate healing and circulation, and even to regulate menstruation. It is ideal for a wild variety of skin problems including cracked and rough skin and diaper rash.

Scientific research of the many compounds in calendula have shown this herb to be:

anti-inflammatory: able to reduce the pain and severity of inflammations.
antiseptic: able to protect against any type of infection
immunomodulating: enhances the performance of the immune system
helpful in healing: wounds, cuts, scratches, ulcers, hemorrhoids, and minor burns (including sunburns)
Calendula Herbal Oil should be considered essential for everyone's Natural First Aid Kit.

Storage
Calendula Herbal Oil should be stored in a cool, dry area until it is used. Once opened, refrigeration and tightly closing the cap will prolong its shelf life.

Usage
For internal use:
take 8-12 drops, 3 times daily to experience all the benefits available from Calendula Herbal Oil.

For external use: warm this Oil to body temperature by rubbing between your hands or dipping in warm water. Apply liberally to affected areas, and massage in. Be sure to treat the region adjacent to the wound, as healing is occurring here too. If using a bandage, increase the amount of oil applied. This guarantees the treatment area is still exposed to the oil, not absorbed by the bandage.

Complimentary Therapies
Proper nutrition is vital to good health. Drink plenty of water (at least 8 glasses daily) and juice instead of coffee, tea or sodas. Try to avoid synthetic ingredients, highly concentrated in prepared or packaged foods, and take a well-balanced multivitamin and mineral supplement.

Compression, elevation, and ice or heat can be used to alleviate discomfort. A qualified health practitioner should be consulted to confirm which is the best course of treatment for you.
